Lily's first trip to the Oregon Coast!

Growing up, my family used to have annual summer trips to the Oregon Coast. There are photo collages lining the main hallway of my parents house of our trips year after year. It is so fun to see my sister and I grow up from year to year- always building sand castles and playing in the waves no matter our age!  I love everything about the beach, even if it is typically foggy and cold- there is nothing quite like your toes touching the ice cold salty water for the first time every year!

We took Lily to Walport, Oregon a few months ago for her first trip to the Oregon Coast. We were incredibly lucky to have sunshine and moderately warm weather 2 of the 3 days we spent there! Based on the simple fact that Lily loved every second of the Ocean, we will absolutely be back- hopefully annually, eventually lining our hallways with our very own family memories.

Kolby and I loved our trip so much, it was decided that in our 10 year goals we will own a house on the Oregon Coast to enjoy trips like this as the family gets older!

As soon as the ocean was in view, Lil broke into a sprint!

Dad didn't hesitate to introduce her to the water

Beautiful clear blue sky!

This excitement was glued to her face all trip!

Dad was the MOST fun- getting himself soaked so Lily could play in the water- such a kid at heart!

Climbing sand hills was so much fun after getting soaked in the water

Mom taught Lily how to dig a big hole in the sand...

...to sit in of course

Those tiny curls loved the salty air!

our summer in a nutshell

I won't even begin the long list of excuses of why I haven't posted since June... however Kolby did get me an SD card reader for my new computer, which will solve the issue of getting photos from the camera to computer! Just to fast forward until now,  here is what our summer looked like:

4th of July spent in Bend with the cousins- Lily and Leighton are only 9 months apart... they will be trouble together before we know it!

A little 1x1 time with Grammy [who those beautiful curls came from!]

Nana taught Lily how fun it is to play with the hose

A few sunny play dates with Vera,  quite the peas in a pod.

Of course the first time playing in the sprinkler!

Daddy's Yankee in Training :)

Some rainy days in between to keep us occupied from inside

Broke in our first real BBQ!

This girl lived for her sandbox time!

Lil found her love for coloring

This not-so-little-one started fitting into some of mommy's old clothes! [Nana made this one!]

The first road trip to the Oregon Coast for Lil! [post to follow]

and Lucky enjoyed the never ending fetch partner

Hope our outdoor expeditions don't come to an end with the recent arrival of rain!

not so summer....

Yes, in Portland we were spoiled with beautiful sunny, warm weather sooner than anticipated... but it is still a little unfair that we've seen rain most days in June. Lily is happy no matter the weather, so she can always cheer me up even if the weather can't! All though I am really looking forward to seeing that adorable tiny girl in her cute pink little ruffled bathing suit when the sunshine permits :)

I am so glad she got grammy's curls :)

Her love for playing in the dirt led to the first sandbox :)

Picking Momma a little grass

Drop everything and RUN

The happiest little girl :)

A day at the farmers market... so much to see!

My favorite summer memory so far... the fountains!

Wow does this girl love the water :)

The best combination eyes Mom and Dad could have created :)

Our little collector

Enjoying the rain as best as we could!

I just LOVE this one... a perfect moment captured by Daddy

Just helping Daddy sweep! Not a lot of talking yet... but she's got cleaning covered :)

This tiny person is the perfect reminder that every moment can be a good one- you just have to make the conscious choice :)
